Hello there, dear readers.
I wrote this earlier and published it in Notes. I thought it should be published here as well.
Go hug a veteran and pray for peace.
Well over a decade ago I met a man who would become my best friend.
He served in Afghanistan. Every time I think of him I’m glad he made it back.
A few years ago the demons nearly took him. It’s why I moved to Florida. To help keep them away.
Now we live in the same small town, living happy lives. I’ll be the best man at his wedding. Gods willing, his kids will babysit mine someday.
It’s a good life. It’s a life you earn by keeping things simple and pure, by staying out of the maelstrom.
Folks need help, you help them.
That’s all.
That's so sweet. Truly a friendship that makes your life more meaningful.
As currently a temporarily transplanted citizen of the Gulf coast of north-west Florida to the "left-coast" of California, I heartily welcome you and your friend to the Sunshine State Phisto👍 Came across your substack via your post in the comments section of a recent Caitlin Johnstone article💡, and decided to 👀 further into who you may be⁉ I like your succinct candor🎯
As Usual,
EA
